Recording requirements

This section provides guidelines for achieving the best transcribing result possible when using ClerkMeetings.

Recording environment

Poor audio quality will lead to poor transcription results, so please follow these:

• Speak clearly, loudly, and slowly
• Avoid talking over other people.
• Use quality recording equipment, such as an external or dedicated microphone or recorder

Supported file formats

We support nearly all audio and video formats and encodings (over 100) and here are the most common we process frequently:

• audio: .aac, .aif, .flac, .flv, .m4a, .m4b, .m4p, .mp3, .mpga, .ogg, .oga, .mogg, .opus, .wav, .wma
• video: .avi, .mp2, .mp4, .m4p, .m4v, .mov, .mts, .m2ts, .mxf, .ts, .webm

Pre-processed recording

Don't pre-process audio or video files, even if it may result in faster file uploads. This can distort the audio and reduce the transcript accuracy. Our speech engine is very robust and has been designed to handle a large variety of audio recordings.
